Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I haven’t written much lately. I have been busy, surviving. I did get my new monitor arm installed last night. That has made my life a little better. Today was yet another Saturday that my trip to the dump has been delayed due to rain.<\/p>\n

It is not that I am dainty and afraid of the rain. Maybe a little lazy, because I know that means cleaning all the mud off the garage floor, the van, and the trailer. I still have time before the snow. I think. I just looked at my black poplar and the leaves are changing. Fall is here. I always thought that frost signals the trees to change colour, but we have had none of that. I guess like the ducks, geese, and swans, they just know it’s time.<\/p>\n

I wonder if we once had that instinct, we must have had to survive this long. To know when the seasons are about to change. I can tell a big change is coming in the weather by the ache in old injuries. That really happens. I know from my Navy days that when the sky is red in the morning, a storm or bad weather is coming.<\/p>\n

Now I just watch for the signs. Kind of like my weather-predicting solar panels. When they are wet it’s raining, when they are white, there is snow coming down, and I need to get my boots and gloves on to clear the snow.<\/p>\n

The yellow leaves means I better get my ass in gear and get summer work done. And I have way too much to do for an old disabled man. Oh well, I do what I can when I can, because it needs doing. Am I ready for winter? NFW.<\/p>\n
