Walking through this life really is walking through fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chaka Khan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Really cold inside, by design. The ashes from the woodstove needed emptying. A lot of ash<\/p>\n

I let the fire go out and stay out for 12 hours. Then I noticed a couple of holes in the chimney that needed filling.<\/p>\n

I left the fire out for another 4 hours to let the grey stove cement cure. Of course, it is too cold for any curing to happen.<\/p>\n

So I lit the fire, and now it’s burning hot. The kettle for coffee is on for the first cup.<\/p>\n

Inside the stove is a hundred pounds of poop that needed burning.<\/p>\n

I had left an upside broken wheelbarrow in the fireroom for the smaller bullied cats to hide under.<\/p>\n

When I moved it, I discovered it was really a great place for them to play hide and go poop.<\/p>\n

There was a lot under there. I made the decision to get rid of all that. No more hiding places.<\/p>\n

Last I checked outside, mixed snow and rain was falling on the plain.<\/p>\n

I was very happy that I made the 80-kilometre trip yesterday. The roads would be solid ice today.<\/p>\n

Just waiting for the kettle to boil, then time to have some lunch.<\/p>\n

After that, gather and cut more wood. Then relax.
