I went out for a walk to assess the possibility of chopping some wood.
No. There is a windstorm. The snow is blowing sideways. There are big drifts of snow, some two feet deep. If I was not hurting and stupid ambitious. I could carry the generator down and fire up the snowblower. Head out and just try to clear a path to the chopping block, just to find that the path would fill in behind me. Nope today is a snowday. I will have to ration the wood I have left to make it last till tomorrow.
Pain is worse today. I am guessing that low pressure is a trigger. Pain in both elbows. Knees. Ankle. Electric shocks to one heel and to a spot mid thigh. Dizziness and fatigue at ten. Walking through the snow was really a slow shuffle.

There was other pain outside. The snow is moving at a high speed. Icy daggers stabbing at my face. The pics are fuzzy because of the heavy snowfall.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Knowing me the way I do I will probably go out and try to push the wheelbarrow through the deep snow and biting wind and try to chop wood.

Why, cause that’s how I roll baby.(the wheelbarrow hahahaha) It needs doing. I am still the same man who stood at the bow of my Navy Destroyer during the worst storm in the Pacific and dared God to do his worst.

And funny enough he answered. With A barrage of flying fish that hit me in the chest. They hurt. He won. And people think I am smart, fools.

Same man a lot older and a lot of broken parts. I will fix the spelling later eyesight is fuzzy again today.

Well I was about to suit up and got a low battery warning on my phone. It was really a message to me. I noticed that the snow bowl was empty. I grabbed my jean jacket, fur hat, and put my snow boots on. It was a short trip to fill that since there is snow everywhere.

I was out maybe twenty minutes ago for my assessment walk. I opened the door and there was a two-foot drift of snow at my door. My footprints were completely gone the path now had three-foot drifts filling the gap. There is no way I was going to get a wheelbarrow through that. I laughed again this was God hitting me with flying fish all over again.

I remember a plaque on my grandfather’s wall, that I never forgot.“Too soon we get old, too late we get smart”. I am old, and not that smart. But I can see that God won out again. I just poured a coffee. I will drink that, finish my daily ramble and fire up the generator, put it in it’s little shack, then decide if it is cult members or bounty hunters that I kill on my xbox.

I guess I am a little smart, I caught the drift (how punny). Have a great day whoever is reading this. And a message for God try not to laugh too hard at me, after all you made me.

And a note for me I took the vitamins. And stay inside

Update:

The grader operator that cleans the snow on our roads did me a favor. He cleaned more of my driveway more than usual. The bad part I have a 6 foot high pile of ice and snow. Sitting on my path to my chopping block. I will deal with tomorrow.

I have extreme back pain. I didn’t do anything physical except move my generator outside and back in again. I did eat a bag of mini chocolate eggs. It may be that chocolate or sugar is another trigger. More research to do.

“Life’s tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.” Benjamin Franklin 2nd day of the snowstorm.
