Surviving fine without need more solar panels and some better batteries but slowly but surely I am getting there.

A few moments ago I got a call from the company that maintains the Power lines on my property. Not the nasty retailer Direct energy.

Adam from Atco power will be here this afternoon to sever my connection from the grid. I won’t lie, the whole ordeal is a little scary. What do I lose? Hot baths, my dryer, on demand running water, the ability to flush my toilet when I want to. Funny thing its only the hot baths that have me worried.

Well I am running my small generator and have been for four hours I read it will run for 9 hours on a gallon of gas. I just ran three computers a 46 inch tv, my internet connection, and cooked a pizza. I am not running my fridge or water pump. Instead, i am letting the freezer thaw out (needs cleaning). My big generator will run the water pump which I will need for an hour a day. No baths no dryer.
The little generator will run my computers and keep Netflix on. I didn’t die because I am disconnected from the grid. Adjustments will have to be made. Changes that I would make when I move into my tiny house anyways. I will buy a propane on demand water heater as soon as I get Revenue Canada off my back bank accounts are frozen. Over zealous new employee who couldn’t read a bank statement to save her life.

THIS IS A VERY OLD POST THAT NEVER GOT PUBLISHED.
