“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.”

Robert Frost

The male cats got in again. I got a little angry and chased them out.  I managed my calm quickly. I will try to get the door built today. The cold is back, and soon more snow 6-12 cm by Thursday night. That’s great for me. I will make the big trip to Costco and get groceries on Wednesday. The weather can turn ugly this time of year until the end of May, last March we had a blizzard but the wind was so strong it caused five-foot drifts across the driveway and those turned to ice. My big snowblower wouldn’t touch those. I just read next week’s weather back to -30 again.

The grader operator got stuck in my driveway. He had to give up. I called in a favor owed with the local Hutterite Colony. They brought a big tractor with a twenty-foot blade That did the job, but I used up my favor. I was very thankful for the help.

If it happens again I will be trapped in here. So I needed to make sure I had some food reserves. I dream of the day when a pantry is filled with goods canned in the summer. I watch some homesteading families on youtube. I am learning how to do things, but I am not there yet. You can learn many things there, did you know, you can keep eggs for a year in water and food grade hydrated lime. I am thankful for the wisdom shared there.

I just took my vitamins. In spite of what I learned recently. I have increased the dose of vitamin to 5000  a day. I am taking ginkgo for fatigue, it is also supposed to be good for memory, but I am too tired to remember if it works. I think that behind the vitamin companies somewhere are the pharma companies are cashing in too. No proof just a gut feeling and a few facts. Vitamins full of sugar, vitamins made with soybean oil. Soybean oil is extracted using hexane a toxic oil by-product that attacks the nervous system. Yup I want that in my vitamins.  I pray that the executives of the companies involved in such practices get exactly what they deserve according to God. If it was up to me, well best not ask that, since I know they are making kids sick all in the name of more profit.

Well that’s it for now, it’s a chainsaw and chop day. I went out to the old van to get a bag of wood pellets. I use them for cat litter. Yup you guessed it, that goes into the fire and helps heat the house. Just got to be quick getting the urine-soaked pellets in the fire. Throw some wood on top. Don’t ever open until burned.

The story behind that is here.

It looks like the small snowstorm stuck to the ice. I am happy about that. Three years ago I slipped on similar ice, broke three ribs, middle of winter. What did I do?. Taped them up with old tensor bandages and kept chopping wood didn’t have a choice. Freezing to death is not a great way to die. I didn’t want to repeat that.

As always I just do what needs doing. Although sometimes doesn’t get done. The wind was too cold to go out. Chainsawing when its windy even with goggles on is a nightmare. Add cold temperature and its even worse I looked at the wood I had left inside and decided I could wait till tomorrow. I didn’t get my door built for the third day in a row. I was too fatigued. I had a nap instead. I woke just now and was time disoriented. I looked outside and saw twilight, no not the vampires. I thought it was morning. Again realizing it is early evening again.

So did the extra vitamin d3 in flax oil do anything to relieve my symptoms no, did ginkgo do anything for the fatigue no. Will I continue to take them yes until the bottles are done Then I will look for other answers.

“The brown acid is not specifically too good” Announcer from Woodstock. Neither were my vitamins.
