“Whenever a doctor cannot do good, he must be kept from doing harm.”

Hippocrates

I guess the music I picked for this day seems to fit.

Who goes outside in minus 50 gathers snow in big steels bowls to melt on the woodstove. The man, who will go out later and finish snow removal, chop wood for the fire, feed the outside birds, feed the inside bird eaters, do carpentry All this with a ton of injuries and ailments. Yup that is me. Lunacy? Probably

First thing was to go out in the cold air, plumbers crack exposed to the wind, wearing just sweatpants, a hoody and gloves. The snow bowls were empty, I filled those and got them on the woodstove to melt for cats water and washing. Before that I was boiling water for coffee, examining the frozen block of cream I forgot to take out early this morning. Wasn’t creamed ice anymore but a solid chunk of white ice. I shaved some of that into a coffee cup then went outside while the water boiled.

I heard a cat in distress outside. One must have snuck out when I went out the door. You can’t leave animals exposed to that kind of cold. I went out and it was the stray I took in at the beginning of winter, to keep her warm and my birds safe. She thanked me like I have said before with six little kittens. I managed to coax her out of the lumber pile on my veranda and bring her inside.

I also brought in a longboard to do some work on my Trump wall it seems that the cat aliens have learned how to climb up the wall and get through the small opening I left for heat circulation. That didn’t work anyway, the rest of the house is cold now in these temperatures. I am sure Trump and his wall will be just as effective at stopping the drug dealers and aliens as he says it. Stupid man, they are smarter than him. My guess is, Most likely one of his financial backers is going to build the wall and overcharge for it. Why doesn’t Trump just build a gold monument of himself and put it up for all to admire, just like in Farcry 4. Oh yea that ended badly for that dictator.

That’s all for now going to have my coffee with frozen cream and some ancient grain cereal. Hopefully the grain is so ancient that Monsanto didn’t invent their cancer causing chemicals to be sprayed on them. Ya I know ancient grains doesn’t mean old grains, but plants are grown from a variety of seeds before GMO. Don’t get me started on that. It was just wishful thinking.

Well the wood choppin is done. Didn’t get to the snow removal, didn’t get to the carpentry yet. Takin a pain break. I am pretty sure I have micro-fractures in my left hand. Today I used the 12 pounder splitting maul. It seemed to work better on the frozen wood. That came with a pain payment. Both hands hurt. My left was damaged in a table saw incident. I had gloves on and was ripping thin strips, the glove got caught in the blade spinning at 60 times a second and slammed my hand down on the table. The pain then was bad but it was the blood gushing out of the glove that concerned me.

The top of that glove finger was gone. I was worried that the finger tip was too.
I was lucky, when I pulled the glove off I had a gash at the top of my finger down to the bone. I couldn’t get to the hospital cause I had my trailer attached and it was full of loose stuff. I flooded the wound with hydrogen peroxide and bandaged it best I could. I had to use electrical tape to hold the gauze in place.

The next day I managed to get the trailer off one-handed and went into the hospital. I made a serious mistake. I asked the doctor that I have never seen before if he was a resident or locum. For some reason that really pissed him off. He didn’t stitch the finger nor do I think he even looked at the x-ray that was done. Just what we needed more petty, egotistical doctors, way to go DR. A in Fairview. You are on my list. The A, I am sure stands for asshole. That hand has never healed right since then.

I will go on in future post to talk about the terrible healthcare I have received in the last few years here in Alberta. Expect those soon

Enjoy some Canadian music I saw Tom sing this in a small venue. It was amazing. I am a little surprised I remembered. Old memories are slipping away.
