“Well, I don’t use the toilet much to pee in. I almost always pee in the yard or the garden, because I like to pee on my estate. “

pond in the summer

Sometimes I just don’t have much to say, other days maybe too much.

Mar 19

The big melt continues. I just got a weather alert on my phone telling me the weather will continue to be milder.

A nice change after surviving weeks of the polar vortex.

Onto doing work around the homestead got way too many jobs and too little horsepower to get them done. So I will be adding to the whiteboard above my desks. I plan to write out all the jobs that need doing. After a small period of being sad about that, I will start doing them one at a time. Till I can get to the fun stuff.

I just got back from a supply trip to town, picked a few groceries, a few building supplies and checked to see if my new oven is in. I didn’t really expect it yet.

Over the last few days, my priorities are getting clearer. I need to get working on the tiny house. I need to finish my renovation before that roof falls in, I need to repair the roof in another part of the house before that falls in. I need to order and build a water purification system.

All of those things require the snow to be completely gone.

When the snow is gone, I hope to be drinking clean water from my pond. Which is full of chemicals.

I did research, the roundup and other chemicals, herbicides, and other horrible things can be handled by the filters I will be using. I will go further than that by using four different filters. A couple just to filter out debris, plant life and swimming critters. The other two for the toxic chemicals used on the surrounding land.

Now it’s time to talk about what I do with the water after my body has processed it. Yup I am going to talk about urine, pee, yellow snow, wee wee, piddle, piss, tinkle. So many words for one thing but only one word for love huh.

Last year I read about urine, it’s sterile, some people use it to wash their eyes and face, others drink it, all seem yucky to me. But what I tell you next will no doubt sound yucky to you. I separate my poop and pee, the same thing a 1500 dollar composting toilet does. I store my urine in old Costco water jugs. Hey the Rock pees in water bottles so can I hahahaha. Then it all goes out to an IPC 330 gallon (1,249.19 l)  tote. In the summer I will mix it with water 1 to 5 ratio and use it to fertilize my garden. Apparently it is the best fertilizer to use. And it’s free.

Google it, people all over the world are doing it.

BTW you can build a composting toilet very easily. A lot of tiny housers already doing that. I even plan to build my own urine diverter. Or you can buy one cheapest I have seen. $50 dollars US about a thousand Canadian :D. If I can build my own urinal I can fab a diverter. In my tiny house I plan to have a tank for urine that I will empty into the IPC container when needed.

Glitter huh
