I went to the hospital thinking I would actually get healthcare. I went in because I was having chest pains, neck pain and trouble breathing. Ya, I know classic heart attack symptoms.

After I got some immediate attention from two nurses that were working then. I had all the required prerequisites done, BP, O2 and even had a test strip done(EKG or is it ECG can’t keep up with the TLA’s). The strip was normal as it usually is because by the time I got there the pain had gone. They were very polite and knowledgeable. But couldn’t do much else because there was no doctor. The system is flawed, not the nurse’s fault.

I left my cell number and left a message for the doc to call if he wanted me to come back in. Of course I didn’t really expect Dr. Irvine to call. I am pretty sure that was the doctor that told me that wood smoke doesn’t cause lung problems. I guess if it was him, he doesn’t have the internet or even has read the causes of COPD.

I was told the doctor would be in at 8 p.m. 2 1/2 hours later. I left I thought I would rather die at home then wait in that petri dish. No offence meant but sick people go there. I am reminded of one visit where I watched a kid wiped his snotty nose with his bare hands and rub it all over the arms of the chair he was sitting in, while his mom was busy texting. That was the moment I became a germaphobe.

I did experience the chest pains three more times later that night, but they got less and less.
Do I think I am on the verge of dying soon, nope? Do I think my heart will eventually fail, yup. My fathers did, but he made it until he was 80, he did have 5 bypasses before he was the age I am now. I think I need to exercise more, eat better. I will be purchasing my own BP cuff and stethoscope, so I can monitor my vitals. I may even look at getting a portable ECG machine, the great thing is I can record and present the data to a doctor, that is, when I find one that is in.

No problem winter is approaching fast I will be out chopping wood every day to stay warm very soon. I have been wondering what to do with my old treadmill. I think I figured it out. I had a revelation, I should use it when I power up the generator. Poor old treadmill, been sadly neglected for years.

UPDATE:

My treadmill works.  I took a low dose aspirin and I did a 5 minute brisk walk up a slight hill. Heart is pounding like a bongo at Matthew McConaughey’s house. I am alive and doing fine. So far. I will try to do a little every day and try not to do what I always do. If 5 minutes will fix it then 35 will do it faster. Yea I am an overachiever, this is my health and I don’t think its as good as it once was, so I will ease into exercise. I forgot how much room the thing takes up. I will have to finish doing cleanup in that room maybe put it by the window, so I can read what the machine is saying. Just another thing that needs doing.

On the lighter side, I watched a movie from 1966, what was really interesting, what the mention of melting polar ice caps and seaports flooding with a rise of just 4 degrees in the Arctic and antarctic. Someone back then knew. Perhaps a time traveller. I write time travel novels for fun. hahahaha

I met a woman online today that is a self-proclaimed expert on Hongshui which I find out is like Fengshui. I trust that she is. She promised to tell me everything that was wrong with my tinyhouse design as soon as I flew over to Indonesia where she lived. hahaha Even getting to town today was a big deal. Never mind the international airport a short six-hour drive from here and a 30-hour plus flight. Oh and oh yeah who was going to feed and make clean filtered water for the million cats I take care of.  Anyways She reminded me of an article I wrote a few years ago.
