“Now Autumn’s fire burns slowly along the woods and day by day the dead leaves fall and melt.”
William Allingham
Another foggy morning 7:05 am the days are getting shorter now 13 hours long. The birds that were gathering earlier have changed their minds. There doesn’t seem to be an early fall like I thought.

Me and the 49 a few years ago in the fall
I do have a single maple tree in the back yard that survived the extreme winter we had here last year that is bright red. The rest of the leaves haven’t changed. A few trees here and there. Even the trees are not saying early fall.
