This morning did not disappoint. I woke to 6 inches (ca. 15 cm) of deep fluffy snow. Immediately donned my snow clothes and fur hat grabbed my big stainless bowl and a pot, fell to my knees and packed as much fresh clean white stuff as I could fit in it.
Back inside I filled the woodstove with new logs, thankful I had brought in extra wood yesterday. Now I wait for fresh snowmelt. The first one will be to fill all the cat’s bowls. The cooking pot full of snow will make my coffee this morning.
It is still snowing heavy the weather people say we have another 4 inches (ca. 10 cm) to go yet. Still, a far cry from the 40 cm predicted, only the morning will tell how much.
Right now it is coming down heavy. My solar panels give a good indication of how thick the clouds are. 15 volts 0.00 amps, dark. I have a few pics but regretfully forgot to charge my phone, I unplugged my USB cable and plugged in the new tablet to be charged and forgot about the phone. Maybe an upcoming trend, my new tablet is phone capable. It also includes a second sim card slot that can be used for a data connection, as it happens I have one of those too.
So what will I do with my snow day? Maybe do some work in my woodwork shop, by tomorrow it will be too cold in there. -25c tonight with a high of -14 during the day. I need a better tablet stand. I spent the day looking at designs done by other woodworkers, they went from the simple but elegant to horribly complicated and ugly.
I wanted to also design a cover for my tablet either out of wood or leather I have both and I wanted to include the keyboard. So that the next time I am waiting in an emergency room, I can add new posts here 😀
I made the tablet stand from a piece of scrap maple. Don’t do what I did and follow the herd, 22.5 degrees isn’t for everyone. I will remake it tomorrow.
I should have stayed in bed today everything I touched seem to go wrong. Even my generator crapped out after a few minutes. I got that solved. So next I went to play a little RDR2 and the xbox needed a huge update, the biggest I have ever seen. Waiting for that to happen now. Finished the 4 gig update and started RDR2 and now that needs a three gig update. Some days you win other days you are me.
