“Electricity is a wonderful thing. Do you realize that if we didn’t have electricity, we’d be watching television by candlelight?”

Tommy Cooper

It’s another day in the neighbourhood. It is dark outside but light enough I can see that the solar panels are covered in fresh snow again.

Solar batteries are dangerously low. If I use any more power from them I can damage them permanently. I have to try to use the generator today to split wood, I am dangerously low on that too.

The good news is today is the warmest day during the cold snap it is only -26 outside right now. The forecast changed it now reads -29. Now it says -26 won’t be until 3 pm only for an hour.

Somehow got the gen to run, somehow got the splitter to run, and somehow got my body working enough to split the first three logs. 7 to go. Having a coffee break. I was going to play a little RDR2 but it needs a big update so here I am typing this.

I am a little worried about the wood I am splitting it is dense and heavy which means wet and might not burn well.

Which means not much heat is generated, wood needs to be seasoned (dry) to give good heat. This log had been sitting out in the yard for three years the rest of the logs out there are dry.

3 logs done 7 to go
