“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.”
Newt Gingrich
Ya da , ya da, ya da. Broken toe, sore back sore ankle, wrist neck and more. I tried to take the wheelbarrow through the deep wet snow to get more wood. That wasn’t going to happen. So out comes the snowblower and it pulls me down the driveway till it gets done. I didn’t want to go through the agony of removing my outdoor clothes and boots past the broken toe. That happened on a deep dark night, long story.
I kept working without a break, as soon as the snowblower was put away, I went straight to the woodpile and put a few logs in, then onto the splitter. After the wood was split I took them inside. I didn’t gather snow yet and I still needed to do the awful job, remove the hot ashes from the woodstove. As I have said many times in this blog, not a fun job. It needed doing.
On my way back inside I learned the meaning of knuckle draggin’ and not the fun snowboarding kind.
I was in a lot of pain, and now I am taking a rest. I wish I had a coffee but that would take more energy than I have left.
