“I found out some really cool ways to swing around the Winchester.”
Shane West
My cats smart and dumb as they are, have figured out how to jump up, and knockdown get two skinny pieces of wood wedged tight against a 2×4 screwed to the wall. This was my idea of a door latch it has worked well for many years.
I woke up freezing, I haven’t had my perpetual fire burning for the last few days.
I have a brave little one-eyed cat named Deeburs who was growling in my ear. My mind put it all together and I jumped out of bed.
It was then I heard the coyotes. No problem most of the cats were locked inside. So I thought.
When I got to the fire room the door was wide open. The dumb boy cats had escaped. In the midst of a coyote flood. Now outside the door, I yelled out a warning at the predators.
I could hear 5 or 6 distinct different coyotes. I did a quick cat inventory
I was missing 7 or 8 cats.
I grabbed a jacket a handful of shells, my rifle, boots and cell phone.
As soon as I was dressed I headed out to save the cats.
No wonder the house was cold the tall grass from last season was frozen solid and crunched with every step. Last night must have been -10 or more
I spotted two of the older boys, the more experienced cats. They were hiding in a lumber pile on my porch. I didn’t see any others.
I know which cats were the Houdini’s. Two orange boys. I didn’t see them.
I walked out to the property line. The coyote’s howls now just a memory. I snapped a few pics while I lamented what I saw.
A ton of yard work and cleanup to be done now that the snow is gone.
As for the missing cats, I may get them back I might not. Only time will tell.
I got four cats back five still missing. I saw three more but now the coyotes have been scared off they are liking the outside, at least till they get hungry.
360 degree video move around and wonder who is driving the car. Brilliant!!!!
