Matthew XVI: 2-3 Jesus said, “When in evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: For the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today; for the sky is red and lowering.”

I woke to a red sky, as a sailor I have always listened to “red sky at night sailors delight. Red sky in the morning sailors take warning”. What I didn’t know that has been around since Jesus. So far it has always been right. I also checked the weather forecast.

A cold and snowy few days coming. I need to go out and chainsaw, I also need to move a truck, empty the outside water tank to the inside. Then there is the splitting and moving of the wood. I need three or four days’ worth. So much for easing into winter. I am not sure my body can take it, but that doesn’t matter, it needs doing, by Saturday night it will be -14.

Today is the day I decided to transfer water to the inside tank. I got about an hour into that and it happened. Snow happened, the first of the season.

I am close to having that job done. Just waiting for the pump. Only one injury today, I fell onto my elbow. I will check the damage later.

My inside tank is fuller than it has been so far. It’s about three-quarters full. I am very thankful I moved water today.

Like I said earlier red sky in the morning was correct.
