Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days.

It is clear out. For me, that means continued cold. The forecast seems to agree the extreme cold warning is still in place. The polar vortex is like when your cousin Bob visits. It’s annoying, and it never wants to leave.

Today is a quiet day, litter boxes, service the chainsaw get it ready to cut, change fuel tanks for adding gas to the generator. I already hauled the generator down from the icy shop to warm it up. It was so cold it hurt my hands when I carried it down. Carrying that machine is already not that enjoyable. The Amazon ad that I bought it from said it weighs 59 pounds, liars.

Taken in wolf moonlight early this morning.

I found this on the inside of my shop window.

Litter boxes filled with new pellets. Next came the chainsaw, the chain was stuck. I don’t know why. After taking it on and off 5 times cleaning the sprocket, carefully putting the chain back on it suddenly worked. I thanked the Chainsaw God for helping me fix it.

Now I needed to fill a few stainless bowls with snow for melting.

Then it was attending the fuel situation for the gen.It meant lifting a new 5-gallon container up to the fueling station, filling a few 1-gallon cans and transport those to the gen location. Oh and transport the gen back up there too. Fill it full of fuel check the oil level snow, fire her up.

All today’s work is done. Back is extremely sore. The generator is running, batteries are being charged and the box and come one. I am done for today.
