Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.

Anthony J. D’Angelo

Another Sunday another day I need to go out and cut, chop and transport wood. A sudden cold spell will arrive tonight, stick around for two days and leave. I don’t believe that like I have said in many other posts, the cold arrives and doesn’t want to leave.

There are weather warnings all around me.

The thing that is the biggest worry is that the grader was moving snow from the last snowstorm, he has a propensity to show up before a snowstorm, like clockwork.
I expect snow. The wind has started to bring in the cold front. Chain sharpened the old-fashioned way, by hand. I knew that I would be hitting dirt because the logs are so low. One hit equals dull chain cant cut wood. And this what happened on my last piece. I barely got through.

Cutting done, chopping not yet.

Wet Heavy Horrible wood to be pushed through soft snow, ice and mud.

Chopping is done and so am I. None of that was easy or fun.  Just as I finished the snow started to come down.
