A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

2:00 AM sharp
There is no reprieve from the heat. I just tried outside, it was cooler. As I stood on the back deck, wearing just my summer sandals, I was immediately covered in all the mosquitoes that have been missing since early May. I ran inside the woodwork shop that was still forty degrees. I thought the garage was a better bet. With all that cold cement the perfect place to get cooler.

My first step into the garage, I noticed the floor was wet. It was so hot in there, the cement was giving up moisture. That happened in one day, a process that usually takes weeks of warm weather, I realized there was nowhere I could go. Nothing I could do.

I had bad headaches, trouble breathing, a sore throat and all the other symptoms listed in a poor air quality statement I found that was released for this area. The heatdome was collecting air pollution and forcing that plus the extreme heat into my lungs. Sleep was hard to come by, the pain and coughing unending.

From the warning: “They add with this air quality, people may experience symptoms like increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath.”

I could see my animals were suffering too. All I could do for them was to keep a full water bowl nearby.

TODAY, ANOTHER RECORD-BREAKING DAY OF HEAT. FOLLOWED BY THUNDERSTORM TORNADO AMD HAIL WARNINGS.

One more day hotter than the last.

It’s 9 AM. I have had time to look at the weather predictions. 46 again today, 30 tomorrow. Lytton BC has broken three records three days in a row, last temp was 49.6.

It is hazy outside. I took a look at the satellite image. There is a cloud just sitting over my area. I don’t know if it will make it worse or better today.

It could be that is a cloud of pollution courtesy of the heatdome. Probably from Vancouver. Where I grew up, I can’t seem to get away from that.

Now 11:48 I have a choice now, stinking hot or hotter. Even the leaves on trees are starting to wilt.

I moved my laptop downstairs, it is crazy hot upstairs. It will give me something to do while I sit out the heatwave.
