I have a two-story house and a bad memory, so I’m up and down those stairs all the time. That’s my exercise.

Betty White

I missed placed my phone this morning. Finding it was an after coffee project.

After an hour of looking, I found the phone, this morning I changed my routine, I started before sunrise. I decided I would need better light than my cell phone.

I set my phone down in a place I never do. I took a portable light, so I could chop wood in the dark to relight the fire that I had let go out last night. An attempt to ration before the next cold spell
arriving later tonight.

I had to retrace my steps a few times and think about why I did the things I did early this morning. I checked all the rooms I went into. Nothing.

I came back upstairs. I relived my walk downstairs early this morning.

I had to put on my bathrobe before going down, because of the low ceiling I had to sit in my office chair to do that. I turned around in the chair and there was my phone on the shelf. Out of sight because of the back of the chair.

I chuckled and grabbed the phone and started to type this.

Early this morning, I was barely awake and concentrating on the task at hand, getting wood chopped to start the fire. My life in winter is centred on wood.

Yup, should have combed my hair after shampooing in snow water.

Where did I put those scissors?😁

Oh and getting snow. Heavy snow. I actually don’t mind getting snow.

80 pounds of snow

I decided to cut wood in the cold windstorm tomorrow. I really don’t why. Just didn’t feel like swinging the chainsaw today. I don’t feel like shooting dictators today either. So instead I am chopping wood, restacking and cleaning up chopping debris. I put 80 pounds of wet debris in the fire, I hope it burns.

I looked at the forecast, looks like 30 cm of snow will fall Wed through Fri. My snowblower, still dead. I will worry about that later.

I restacked my inside wood to get an idea of how I was doing.

It didn’t look like enough for two days
