Humans are pretty crafty but will fold quickly in severe cold.

Sun is shining, in winter here it usually means high pressure and cold.
I went outside to have a look. First in sweatpants and sandals, to grab the sunrise pics. Toes got cold, I came back in.
Then with winter gear to gather ice for melting. The snowpack that was over three feet deep was now was a mere 6 inches.
That had to be chopped with the machete before being scooped out to fill the bowl. That’s not your froo froo, mamby pamby powder snow, but ice.
I scoped the horizon for the 80-pound predator, that had been a worry before. Took a few pics of my favourite tree. I noticed it was budded out. The warm spell had even fooled the trees.
The solar panels were producing electricity again. Enough to feed my laptop for a while and charge the battery banks.
I had placed those in the summer, too close to the house for winter. Moving those were on my list. My way too long list.
I had plans of playing video games, but I need to gather and cut wood. I noticed some old 2×4’s on the front deck I would probably cut those later in the day
I just managed to get the fire room up to a whopping 11 degrees with the remaining wet wood. It would do for now.
I got the room warmer up to 16, which is plenty hot for me. Colder temps were coming.
I had a look around my garage. There was wood to be had. It had to be dug out of piles of junk. It was all good, better than trying to dig through ice outside.
I found a box of scrap pieces of 2×10 and OSB leftover from another Reno. I gathered some up, brought that into the fire room.
It probably would get me through the night along with more pellets. I never did get to game today and probably won’t.
There was always tomorrow. I did go out for more ice and snow. It’s on the woodstove right now.
Todays work? I spell-checked and grammar-checked two months of blog entries. That was actually depressing because I got a look at how much wood I used from Jan till now. A lot.
