Have you ever watched a crab on the shore crawling backward in search of the Atlantic Ocean, and missing? That’s the way the mind of man operates.

H. L. Mencken

Another winter’s day, another snowstorm. It is good, it means that temps are rising a bit. A bit.

I just had a fireside bath. Mila Kunis style, pits, tits, holes and soles.  Sounds awful, but it’s not.

I bathed in a gallon of water, heated on my woodstove. Now I am washing clothes in my big bowl heated on the woodstove.

I know how much water we waste. I used to have a 90-gallon bath every morning heated by an electric water heater.

I washed my car at the car wash, once a week, even if it didn’t need it.

When I had a family here we drained a million-gallon pond in less than a summer, having baths, washing dishes, clothes and everything else.

Pay attention to the droughts. We are running out of water. What I do now is already being done by others that know.

That doesn’t mean that your efforts won’t be resented. I collected rainwater in a tank out front of my house.

One day I watered my plants and all my houseplants died. A week later, 6 cats died.

Only one chemical does that. The same one that the drugstore farmer next door uses. Yes, the same one that has tried to harass and intimidate for 6 years now.

One word for him, Karma. I feel sorry for him.

My point is breaking away from the pack has its dangers. Not breaking away means you are following the sled dog right in front of you. That’s a shitty view, but you don’t have to think for yourself.

I see too many people like that. Then I see the ones that stood up. They are inspiring.

Unfortunately, they will suffer from crab mentality.

I cut a board I had saved for some unkown project. It felt criminal.

I gathered snow, brought the wood down to the fire. The gen got started, Skyrim got started.

Wet laundry got hung up, and now I will relax.

BTW Big Jake is hanging in.
