We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
George Bernard Shaw
Woke cold and in pain. More snow happened during the night. I let the fire go out last night. I thought it would burn it self out and leave the house somewhat warm.
What really happened is the wood didn’t ignite. Good news is that wood should be drier and easy to light this morning.
I am limiting the wood to one big log per night. I have eight left.
About the pain, my back hurt so bad early this morning that it kept me awake.
The same back that helped me chop my log of the day. While I was picking up that log from outside everybreath I took hurt from the cold.
Tommorrow night it will get to -30 even colder during the 35 km wind gusts. That makes it impossibly cold.
It is time to try filling small propane bottles. Then I can try the small heater.
I may need that. Big bottles outside won’t work, propane doesn’t flow when it gets real cold. Something I learned after investing in propane heat. The little bottles only work for a few hours. I will be waking up a lot this winter.
