The reward of labour is life. Is that not enough?

William Morris

I had to go to town to pickup supplies before the snow. First thing I needed to deal with the flat tire.

I started the Ryobi inflator filling the tire on the van. As that was happening I added extra gas.

The tire inflator didn’t sound right. I checked to see how far it got, 5 pounds. Something was wrong. The tire was  not inflating.

I thought If I could jack up the front of the van, that might help. Only problem was both floor jacks didn’t work. I hauled out the big one anyways.

I was thinking the problem was just with the valve tightener. The thing you opened or closed to get it to jack up or down. I tried using a crowbar to turn the gear around the valve. It didn’t help, I tried a different approach. I asked God for help.

Suddenly the jack valve started to turn with the handle like it was supposed to. I jacked up the tire. I tried filling it again. It slowly started to gain pressure. Finally at 36 pounds the tire was holding air.

I got the garage doors open, got Gracie started and drove her outside. I tried to stop but she slid for a hundred feet. The driveway as I predicted was solid ice.

I made it out of the driveway, my road was also solid ice all the way to the highway.

I made it to the village, and then to town and back again. The next big challenge was the driveway. I knew backing in like I always did would never work. My only way in was using momentum going forward. I left the van up on my road and opened the garage doors.

I made it inside no problem and did not use brakes until the wheels were all on bare concrete inside.

Then came the unloading, groceries, large bottles of water, and a large bage of catfood.

I got that all inside, my back was hurting.

My fire had lit while I was gone nothing but coals inside. I needed to cut a few boards to keep us warm for a few hours. I got that done. With the fire loaded I was in so much pain I had to lay down.

Groceries still not unpacked, but that is next on my list. After I rest a bit.

I also needed to finish cutting boards for the rest of tonight.  It was too late to get the gen started so hand cutting was the only way.

I was going to buy a new hand saw while I was in town but I forgot. Mine was getting dull. I managed somehow to get everything else.

I also needed to do online orders, I thought I better get a new tire inflator my old one was about done. With the slow leak in my tire it had become a must have.

Well I gotta go unpack groceries, cut wood and other stuff.

Groceries are done, I am resting between boards to be cut. I cut a quarter hoops worth, enough wood till midnight.

I need to keep cutting, I am really missing my portable circular saw. I need me another.

I killed mine last winter cutting up expensive OSB for heat.

I was hoping to panfry a pizza for dinner, I don’t think I’ll make it. Everything hurts.

All the wood that is inside is cut. Nearly a half a hoop. I zombie walked back to my bed. Now I’ll have a B Vitamin, have some cold coffee and collapse. That’s it I am over done.
