I made a fire. The truth is I had to. I cleaned my room, emptied garbage cans. I had a bagful of burnables that had no place to go.
Sawed wood, split wood, gassed up the gen, gathered snow. Filled the cats bowls. Swept the floors
My back ached, my chest ached and it was taking way too long to heat a kettle. It was too hot to sit in front of the fire. I had no choice the kettle wasn’t hot enough yet.
Soon I hoped.
I can see steam rising up from the depths. Of the kettle. I gotta go.
I won’t get hot coffee this morning like I said yesterday maybe later.
