Today started like any other day. Mostly, except for the three female deer in the yard. A few days ago I had a male deer in the back yard. It is not a safe time to get between the male and females.

Cats were fed and watered. Gas was collected for the gen. Empty water bottles taken to the van. The gen was started, outside cats fed.

I was going to the village to pickup freight. I decided to wait till tomorrow. That might have been a mistake. If the snow that fell the other day melts and refreezes the road will turn to solid ice. Time would tell.

Water for coffee is on the boil. It is sunny but somehow my battery monitor got scrambled again. I needed a full charge to recalibrate.

Coffee made now onto breakfast and vitamins.

The gen has done it’s job, my battery monitor has been correctly calibrated. The batteries are fully charged.

Now what remains is what to do with the rest of the day. I am leaning towards the mountain of cardboard in my garage and my new electric scissors.

I think that requires a bit more planning. I need a place to pile the strips I cut which will be shredded, once I get a shredder. That will be in the spring.

Then I can make carboard and sawdust soup. That will be scooped out after aging a bit in water and pressed into logs using a hydraulic jack. Dried and used for firewood.
