Nature is cold, wet, hard and unforgiving.

David Remnick

I saw a few somethings this morning that surprised me a little. A message on my phone that basicaly said sorry it is too cold for the phone to take a charge. It is -42 outside. In the fire room it was -5. A fire has been started, cats are fed. The ice on their bowls broken, so they can access the water.

Another surprise is my driveway was plowed. I am not used to that. The last twenty feet needed shoveling. That wasn’t going to happen soon.

Gracie does not like to run in extreme cold. Either do I. The catfood I had left should last till Monday. I could panic then.

My freight would have to wait. I was waiting for a couple more parts for my diesel heater being walked over from China on the back of a small boy.

The parts were ordered weeks ago. I could have used that heater for the polar vortex causing the extreme cold right now.
