All things are difficult before they are easy.

Thomas Fuller

Today was another heavy work day.

Four hundred pounds of wood pellets, 215 pounds of catfood, 40 pounds of fuel, 80 pound generator filled, moved and started, 80 pounds of snow gathered and brought in.

I am upstairs boiling water for coffee then I will melt a pot of snow for the cats, all on my little 1 burner propane stove.

If I am lucky I will get to make breakfast and maybe even fire up the xbox for a little while.

Melted snow gave the cats wet water. Now I am making hash browns from dehydrated potatoes. They are from before covid. They seem fine. Just add water, wait 12 minutes then fry in a skillet. We just call that a cast iron frying pan here.

The hash browns tasted fine. I had my coffee, played a little Starfield and my solar batteries were fully charged.

It will take awhile lomger to recover from doing the work today. Saturday the cold and heavy snow arrive. If the forecast holds it will be warmer by next Friday.

I just have to survive till then. That migh be a problem I will be out of food for me. At least the cats are covered.
