I have a lot of cats. Leftovers from my kids, a few strays and some misfits not suitable for adopting out.

They make a lot of crap mixed in with clay from the litter. The local dump doesn’t allow me to leave it as a donation.

So I end up with piles of clay and other stuff that can get disgusting. At 10 bucks for 10 lbs gets expensive.pellets

2_week-old_Female_Sphynx_(Suki)So talking with a close friend we discussed using wood pellets as a medium. The stuff  that you burn in a pellet stove. She doesn’t have a wood stove but she has a lot of cats. She has sphynx cats. Cute things. Especially the latest  bunch born a few days ago. If you are looking for one leave a comment and I will put you in touch with her.

I heat my house with wood.  Cat crap + wood pellets+ wood stove= equals heat and no piles out in the yard.

The trial:

At first the cats questioned my choice giving me the WTF look,  then I sprinkled a little clay over the top of the wood pellets. Everyone is happy now.  The first load is heating my house as I type this.  My friend Stephanie donated the first bag for the trials, thanks Steph.

Cost is $6.00 for a 40 lb bag. Pure wood no bark no additives and low ash content.  And now my cats are contributing to heating the house. Its all good.

Now if the people that make the pellets clue in the potential new market please send  a commission to:

The cat portrayed above is not related to the sphynx cats that were actors in the Austin Powers movies. Their names were SGC Belfry Ted Nude-Gent, and  mini Mr Bigglesworth was played by Mel Gibskin, Paul Nudeman and Skindiana Jones.
