“On a motorcycle, you can’t really think about more than where you are. There’s a freedom that comes with that – from stress, worry, sweating the small stuff.”

Laurence Fishburne

Woke at 4 a.m.

I woke up stressed not exactly sure why. I noticed that I was also fatigued. I think there is a connection. I will do more research on that later.

12:16 Grey and dreary out the weather forecast say a little snow and not the big snowstorm that was originally expected. I guess when I wake up tomorrow I will see what shows up. I will be suiting up to do what I do every day in the winter. Yup you guessed it. Chop wood.

The cold is coming back down to -25 again for a few days. I seem to be having minor memory lapses more often. This morning walked into my office with a vengeance and forgot why I was there. Pain is ok today, old injuries hurt getting off the couch was with the normal shouts, and the morning shuffle over to fill the fire.

Same as most days. I was out earlier to fill the big stainless bowl with snow to melt for washing and to use for the cats. I could feel the cold breeze. It is difficult for me to dress for wood chopping in this weather it feels like about -10 with a real feel of -14. The snowsuit I wear is really made for -25 and beyond, so I end up overheated when I am done. If I just wear a t-shirt The sweat turns to ice and that isn’t fun. I would prefer that winter stay winter, without the climate change warm spells. It reached plus one here the other day. One Christmas day I saw plus 12 here.

More after choppin

Well the choppin is done an easy 600 pounds today. How do I know that is simple just estimate the weight of each log and add as u chop. Were it so easy, the warm spell makes the wood almost impossible to split. Frozen wood splits easier.

Thankful for my bluetooth headset, I was able to listen to music while I chopped. And sure enough, a song came on just in time to help me push that 600 pounds uphill and in the house. Radar love this time. That song makes me drive fast also works with walking who knew.

I wanted to take a minute to thank Lesley the bird Nerd for allow me to put up the chickadee video a few days ago. I have been watching her videos. I enjoy them.

I never knew I liked birds all that much until a few years ago. Now I feed them every day in the winter.  Sure I loved Eagles before and shot many when I was a photographer. But I never appreciated them till I moved here into the country.

600 hundred pounds

I remember what I went into my office for, it was to take pills for my memory, but I forgot to take them, I know, old joke. But true I forgot to take my d3 ginkgo b12 and my aspirin.
