Either you run the day or the day runs you.

Did I already do this post?
A few times.
A lot of the “official groundhogs” saw their shadows meaning winter is staying. Others did not meaning an early spring.
The weather forecast says both for the next week early spring, after tjay winter returns cold temps and all.
I did all the immediate things. Fed the cats, checked water bowls. Attended the fire, went out side brought one long board in.
I need to go out again and grab another. There is a wicked cold wind out there. The extreme cold warning is still in place. I need to gather snow. I am stalling hoping the warmer weather is on the heels of that wind.
That was fun, a little 34 below snow on barefeet inside my boot. Then digging through ice to get at the nect board. Which was a 20 footer. Gathering frozen snow.
Falling again dragging the board. Having to cut the board with door wide open to the freezing wind. Now the huffing and puffing that comes with any exertion.
I did realize it might be too cold for the gen right now. So I will keep myself occupied, not cutting wood. I am good for awhile.
I do have to fill a gas can in the garage, and I made a promise to the cats that I would bring in a bag of the good food. I bought a big bag of the lumberyard catfood. They used to love it.
During the pandemic the formula changed, probably due to supply issues. Now it takes them all day to finish their feed. Before it was gone in a half hour.
On to Halo infinite this afternoon.
Done that down cutting bosrds for the fire. The fire is out. I need too find some firestarter. I had ideas of cooking the second pizza. I am not sure thats gonna happen.
3 more cuts and firewood is don for tonight.
My arm and lungs gave out on the first three cuts. I am finished the cutting, have cardboard and paper in the fire box.
If it crackles might have pizza for dinner. That would ofcourse be considering I can navigate stairs three times to get the pizza there and back again.
Tomorrow the warm spell starts. Fresh snow, warm temps in the day ice at night not fun for side roads and driveways.
The fire doesn’t want to light. I used a full size cardboard box.
It could be the Joe dirt meteor at the bottom of the fire, but it isn’t.
Oh wait I hear crackling again. I am going to get the pizza before its too dark.
I the frying pan oiled and brought it out to the woodstove, the fire was out again. This time i made kindling gave the coals a blow job and I hope that will do it.
Keeping guard on the pizza will take longer since the stove is not hot.
