They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.

They say it is -42 outside. For me that usually means -48 or worse. I need to go out and chainsaw. I may have another way, I have a lot of wooden debris under my electric log splitter I may go out and gather the wood, and sawdust into bags and burn that today to see how far I get. I have enough firewood in the log hoop to last a night if I ration the wood. They say it will be slightly warmer tomorrow, so they say.
Yes the red sky has me concerned bitter cold with a storm could be bad. I will check again to see what they say.
Well, you know how it goes. I had to feed the birds, while I was put there I thought I might as well chainsaw.
I should have known it wasn’t a great idea. My fingertips started to freeze while I was gassing up the chainsaw. 15 minutes into cutting I could only feel pain in the tips of my fingers. I had to quit. I would do more tomorrow.
I loaded the wheelbarrow with every log and moved them over to the splitting pile. I took a picture but it misfired. The load was twice what I usually move, but I should have enough wood to split for tomorrow as well.
Now I can feel my fingers again sitting by the fire I needed to go out and collect the wood, move it down the driveway, chop it and bring it inside. I also needed to gather snow to melt for water.
