Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.

I didn’t need to go to the moon just town and back and then up on my roof to unclog my chimney. It was extremely hard. My back was sore from loading solar panels and cat food into the van and then groceries. I made the trip into town and back, unloaded everything. I took some of the extra cardboard that Amazon is kind enough to send. I tried to light a long-dead fire, so I could melt some snow for the cats. Smoke started to pour out the chimney pipe I knew what that was right away. Chimney clog. Creosote had formed inside the chimney from running low fires during the warm temps.

Sore as I was I needed to go up and ram a long pole down a hot chimney to break the clog. My muscles were weak, the snow was four feet deep at the back of my house. Wet heavy snow. It took me ten minutes of wrestling with the ladder to get it up. As I slid down the slippery roof to the chimney with my long pole I wondered how I was going to lift it into place. My muscles hurt worse after dealing with the ladder. I managed to get the pole up once and I let it drop. It was all I could do I prayed that it hit the clog on the way down.

After struggling with the pole to get it out I made my way up the roof I looked around and worried a little about the deep heavy snow up there. I wasn’t strong enough to do anything about it today.

I made my way back down to the ground and inside. I opened the woodstove and I saw flames. That was a good sign I just heard a crackle also a good sign. Did I mention that it started to snow right after I got back from town?
