Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside us while we live.

Another day and more broken toes. The other night in the dark I knocked over a full bottle of organic virgin olive oil. The only kind I buy is the extra thick and heavy bottle. It fell directly on the toes of my right foot, where I already had a broken toe from another incident.
Really not having a good time, yesterday I woke with a sore mouth, today that has progressed to a sore throat and a sore neck. I rinsed with salt water yesterday and will do the same today to see if this all gets better or worse.
While I was outside feeding a runaway and a stray that has adopted me. I had a look at the toes, red and swollen. Painful. Do I want to rush into the hospital that is recirculating Covid through its ventilation system, or deal with the surly people that work there? No
I will get through this on my own.
I am still grieving the little cat that died, he was the most amazing little personality. I still have his brothers and sisters.
