No matter how much cats fight, there always seem to be plenty of kittens.

I had a unique experience this morning. A kitten, that is only a couple of weeks old, climbed out of the cardboard box that is its home. It then slowly walked over to me and crawled up my belly. In a few minutes, it started to purr. This kitten is so small it could fit in a coffee cup. I let it stay for a half-hour while I worked on a project on my laptop.

Tiny house project

I have too many cats, I really didn’t need more. It all started with a boy cat who broke a door to get at the female cats. A few weeks later, I had three preg females. The first one had kittens a few weeks ago. That went normal, with no complications.

A week later, another mother cat had 6 more, but this time she abandoned them. 3 of those died by the time I found them. I moved the remaining 3 with the first mother. She adopted them. She has been nursing those along with her other five kittens. The one that crawled up on me, was one of those.

I can’t remember a kitten that small walking or purring, I mean besides the Deakes who did a similar thing except she stayed beside and has for 15 years.

The truth is I am a dog person, but I like cats too. It is hard to take a cat canoeing, although I have.
