Tough times never last, but tough people do.

Robert .

Yesterday.

Cats got fed and watered. Two flat tires were filled, snow got shovelled, got out of the driveway. It was a little icy.

I was thankful the snowplow guy didn’t do my driveway properly. When the snow melted on the warm days, it left my driveway with a rough texture.

That actually made it better to get out.

My side roads where the grader operator tried to do his job, were solid ice.

No extra braking, or even the slightest acceleration tolerated.

I made to the village picked up my freight. Went to town picked up groceries and made it back home and got Gracie back in the garage.

I got the persishable freight inside, a little later got groceries unpacked. Parcels unpacked.

There was collapsing after that. I even managed to start a fire for the night. I didn’t get back down to feed it again. I had overdone my day.

Today

Cats got fed and watered. Boards got cut. Kindling was made, fire got loaded and started. Shit I forgot the kettle gotta go.

Dashed to the kettle and to the thermos, filled the thermos with water, used that to fill the kettle part way.

Kettle on the woodstove, me out of breath I type more. My Valentines Day was’t going to be glamorus. I needed more boards dragged in, more snow gathered, the gen filled and started, drill batteries collected and charged, coffee made, breakfast made.

I got a new device in yesterday, it turns drill batteries into powerbanks. I can charge my DB (drill batteries) a few ways, direct from solar, the gen or from the solar batteries.

This would add capacity incase of calamity.

More watt hours of storage to keep my phone, internet and tablet running. I tried it last night. Awesome. Picture on yesterdays post. I have to go and do work.

Gas can needs filling first. That done I needed to collect a few things. A DB, gloves, more catfood, and a usb cable I forgot in the van.

The DB wasn’t where I thought it was. I had moved it to a safe place never to be seen again.

I grabbed the catfood and gas and continued on. With the gas can, drill and snow bowl in hand, I headed to the back deck. I forgot the gen. The drill ran out of battery.

I had an emergency measure for that. Using a screwdriver I removed all the screws I needed to, then retrieved the gen, filled it,  got it started.

Grabbed a big bowl of snow. Screwed down the gen shack cover, by hand. Took my bowl down to the woodstove.

My kettle was already boiling by then. That led to a less than full thermos.

With the DB in the charger. I went to make coffee. I was too tired. I was going to make breafast but too tired. Vitamins I could do those, ya you guesed it too tired..

I needed to rest first. Typing words didn’t use much energy, just thinking and thumb movements.

My xbox had a ton of downloads to do. So I had started those.

Soon I would reach for suppliment bottles, i had gained two more yesterday, B12 made with the version a body could absorb  and a vegan multi with added minerals.

Did I think it would help? Ah couldn’t hoit.

A lot of wrong things happened today. If I believed in luck at all, today would have been all bad.

Just came in from gathering boards. I cut a few for the fire that was almost out. I saw flame come up again. I thought next I would look for the missing battery.

I ordered two more generic DB at half the price of the ryobi ones. Probably only half as good.

I also ordered new headphones. I broke mine today. I hooked up the old speaker system and remembered why I switched to headphones. All the voices sound muffled.

The rewiring took me a painful two hours.

I plan to feed the cats a little early today, since I am already here. I had to rearrange water bowls and refill them with snow.

The fire got cold enough for the boy cats to knock the waterbowl off and dump the water.

Like I said, tough day.
