Just made my trip to my dugout ( thats Albertan for pond) to get a bucket of water to pour through the filters.

I was amazed by how many weeds had grown during the heatwave. I was almost sure I could walk across the top. They were thicker than I ever remembered. I tossed the bucket out as far as my twenty foot chain would allow. I helped it sink below the weeds by carefully tugging the chain.

I pulled up a bucket of the murkiest, weedy, full of water boatman and dragon fly nymphs and other unidentified swimming bugs, I had ever seen.

It was hot out here, even the outside door knob was hard to hang onto. If it wasn’t for the fear of getting tangled in the weeds, drowning in my back yard and my strong dislike of leaches I would go swimming.

I hauled a full 20 liter bucket of the ugliest water I had ever seen up to the shop were the filtering buckets were and poured that through two sets of screens.

The pressed carbon filters and a little bit of hydrgen peroxide would make the water clear again.

I am just pouring the results into a 4 litre water jug. Soon cats big and little would be enjoying that.
