Out of water again, i went out for a big a bowl of snow. I looked at a pair of solar panels that were covered im snow. I trudged through the 2 feet deep snow and tried to sweep them off.
They were covered in 2 inches of snow with a half inch of ice underneath that. I cleaned them the best I could then went back to my snow gathering.
Once inside I looked in the fire box. Some of yesterdays wood pellets had trured to charcoal.
I went back outside a grabbed a 40 pound sack of pellets to put on top of the smoldering ones. I added some cardboard strips and a couple pieces of wood. Soon a fire was burning again.
I didn’t really need to heat the house but I did need to keep the cats out of the snow bowl on top of the stove.
Making coffee, right now, that gives me time to write now as I wait for the hot water to pour through.
My solar batteries are extremly low, the solar panels are just making 5 amps. If I had a summer 17 hour day. I might get them charged.
I played with the idea of draining the fuel from my van. The same fuel that killed the engine. I aslo thought about the two liters in one of the old gens. Then I thought about how much a new gen cost. I have been looking a a dual fuel model.
I can’t even get to town for groceries or mail, what chance did I have to get into pick up a gen.
